Corporate Identity and Logo Development:

LOGOTYPE DESIGN 1.0

A sampling of trademarks done over these past years. Trademark design is always an interesting challenge. It takes some thought to sum up the character of a company in a single graphic gesture. Sometimes it just can't be done...a company's character spans too much ground. The classical example is designing a mark for an advertising company. They offer too many services whose nature is intangible.

Still in all, companies put too much emphasis on trademarks. The 'mark' takes on a hallowed stature which it doesn't deserve. Trademarks originally served an illiterate population. Today they are an anachronism. Designers don't like to let this information leak out into the general populace because logo design is a great showpiece.
